On May 17, Ocean University of China and Lomonosov Moscow State University (LMSU) held an Arctic Science Cooperation Seminar in the form of an online conference to promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in Arctic marine scientific research and environmental monitoring of the Northern Sea Channel. Yuri Mazei, Vice President of Moscow State University, and Liu Yong, Vice President of Ocean University of China, attended the meeting.

Liu Yong pointed out that Ocean University of China and Moscow State University have a common research foundation and research interests in many fields, and the potential for cooperation is huge. This year marks the centenary of Ocean University of China, the 40th anniversary of China's polar expedition and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Yuri Mazei said that the cooperation between the two sides is very meaningful, and he looks forward to achieving more fruitful results by strengthening academic exchanges and carrying out collaborative research in various fields.
Li Weidong, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of the University, and Ruslan Proklov, Deputy Director of the International Department of Moscow State University, presided over the opening ceremony. In the exchange and discussion session, Chinese and Russian scholars introduced their respective team members, scientific research progress and achievements, inspection equipment and data resources. The two sides conducted full discussions and exchanges on marine biology, environmental monitoring of the Northern Sea Channel, geographic information technology and digital service development.
Representatives of the Faculty of Biology, the Center for Marine Research and its affiliated Aquabiology Laboratory, Geographic Information Technology Laboratory, Hydrometeorology and Ice Forecasting Laboratory, as well as the Faculty of Oceans and Atmospheres, the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Physics and Marine Education, the Faculty of Marine Life, the Faculty of Information Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Fisheries, the Faculty of Engineering attended the meeting.
