报告内容:Some preliminary results from a multi-decadal, eddying global ocean-sea ice simulation using the Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model (HYCOM) is presented. The simulation has a horizontal resolution of 1/12° and is forced with the atmospheric reanalysis product DRAKKAR forcing set (DFS5.2) over a period of 1958-2015. The focus is on the circulation in the southern Atlantic Ocean, where the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC) is connected to the Pacific/Indian Oceans as part of the global overturning system, and on the meridional coherence of the AMOC. The simulation represents reasonably well the structure of the AMOC and the Antarctic circumpolar circulation in the southern Atlantic Ocean, although the magnitude of the time mean transports differs from observations by 20-30%. The variability of the modeled AMOC transport is shown to be meridionally coherent from interannual to decadal timescales.
