On October 25, at the glorious moment of the centenary of Ocean University of China, top experts from the global polar research field gathered together, adding a strong academic atmosphere to the centenary of this oceanographic university. Ksenia Kosobokova, distinguished professor at the Hirshov Institute of Oceanography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Tatiana A. Alekseeva, principal researcher at the Russian Institute of Arctic and Antarctic Research, Russell R. Hopcroft, a well-known professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Professor Shigeru Aoki, an authoritative scholar at Hokkaido University, and Guy, former head of the Marine Robotics Project under the Antarctic Ice Shelf in Australia Williams, Professor Igor Bashmachnikov of St. Petersburg State University, Russia, walked into the School of Oceanography and Atmospheric Affairs after attending the grand celebration and visited the Key Laboratory of Polar Ocean Processes and Global Ocean Change of Ocean University of China.
In the Polar Key Laboratory, Chinese and foreign experts conducted in-depth exchanges on the glorious history of Ocean University of China in the field of polar expedition in the past 40 years and the current research progress. They not only reviewed the outstanding contributions of Haida in polar scientific research, but also conducted extensive discussions on the direction of international cooperation in polar research in the future. This meeting not only deepened the academic friendship between each other, but also injected new vitality into global polar scientific research cooperation.
